Hello all,
Yesterday, TechCrunch reported that PayPerPost, the company which was the first in league to introduce payment for blog posts, acquired Zookoda, the blog to email system.

    Arrington said -

Controversial startup PayPerPost will announce the acquisition of Zookoda, an Australian blog-to-email service, tomorrow.

We wrote about Zookoda last year, and the company put the product up for sale last September. There were reportedly a number of offers for the service when it was originally put up for sale, but the asking price of US$500,000 was too rich to close a deal. Now, nearly seven months later, PayPerPost has stepped in to acquire the company. PayPerPost is not disclosing what they paid for Zookoda, although CEO Ted Murphy did tell me it was a cash deal.

PayPerPost previously announced the acquisition of Performancing only to back out of the deal a week later. Murphy assured me that the Zookoda acquisition won’t suffer the same fate.

PayPerPost says that Zookoda has 10,000 blog customers sending emails to 2.3 million people. Like the Performancing deal, PPP will want to market their core service to those 10,000 bloggers. Murphy tells me that they are also looking for new distribution channels for their content, and email is a natural fit. PPP bloggers will probably soon be seeing pitches to join the Zookoda service, perhaps with the promise of higher payouts when they post.

Its funny to note how Arrington calls PayPerPost as the “controversial startup”. Ironically, it was he who made the maximum controversy when they started up :P

Anyway, I can only wonder what PPP would want with a website like Zookoda. Indeed, PPP’s earlier trial at acquisition, with Performancing, had some meaning for their then intended segmentation, but right now, Zookoda seems like a meaningless acquisition for a company like PayPerPost.

Arrington says that PPP will utilize their means to influence the 10,000+ bloggers who use Zookoda. But honestly, I think Ted Murphy, CEO of PayPerPost, has something much more vast under his sleeve.

I’d tried Zookoda for BloggingIndia, and was quite unsatisfied with the service. It seemed to lack something… Maybe it was just a bit new to me, and the fact that with Zookoda, a blog lost all its importance.

This is all new to me mate Zookoda still I really came to say I was wrong re two southern Hemisphere teams in the world cup cricket Final as it is now one from each hemisphere after the crushing of New Zealand.
My choice has to be Australia of course 3rd time correct huh .
What have you got against Sri Lanka? lol don’t answer that. I am going to watch it on one of those huge screens lucky me huh

  2. Mohan Says:

Well, Sri Lanka isnt just as good a team as India. Unfortunately, they are consistent, and not like snivelling Indian team – whose moto is win one, lose two…

I would say that Sri Lanka doesnt deserve to be in the finals….

So whom are you betting for? My money goes for the Aussies, who are, though worse than their previous forms, still the best among all the other teams…

  3. Mick Rogers Says:

Australia naturally but it was a shame in a way about the Kiwis I blame Stephen Fleming he’s like an old woman on the field, a good cricketer but a useless one day captain I blogged it already.
I don’t agree with your analysis of Sri lanka as they got to the final and India and a lot of other good teams did not; that’s cricket mate accept it lol hey this is what blogging is about be happy

  4. Mohan Says:

Lol… Mick, I was just opinioning that Sri Lanka wasn’t as good a team as people think them to be.

    Personally, yeah they’re ok.

But I got stung after a “few” of their players made snide comments on the Indian team, and the Indians, AND the NZL team, before the World Cup, during a press conference. After that, I decided that I was never going to support them… :P

Ofcourse, thats cricket. Like Tendulkar said, The ICC World Cup isnt about consistent good cricket. Its a matter of luck, and your form in a dozen games… And a bit of skill :P

Sachin has a point I guess we lost form in our ODI games in Australia after the test debacle of England (nothing new with that I reckon them Poms are useless at the game just my opinion and to think they brought the game to the world what a hoot lol.
lotsa luck in cricket yep .
I think the practice of players giving press conferences is wrong until the end of the series or whatever is being played.
It was at one time it seems that decision has gone out the window.
yeah good luck Australia is my view but it would be I guess.
To think I predicted that India would win it has annoyed me also along with the Chappell episode I guess somebody had to be the fall guy.
Oh well roll on Saturday 2330 for me earlier for you I guess?
